Last Week of classes

Well this the lat week of classes til the finals. I'm tryna crack down and make sure that I finish this semester off well. Then after that its time to move out for the summer time yea boi!!!!!!

Course goals that have helped me

I think that I have learned some of our course goals and not so much on the others. The two I feel that helped me the most are understanding that persuasion-both visual and verbal-is integral to reading and composing. I usually just use verbal persuasion to for reading and composing. Now that I added visual to it I feel that my writing has gotten better because I can use more than one source to get a point across.

The other one that has helped me is how persuasive visual and verbal texts are used to compose different audiences and different purposes. Each person has a different way of viewing things when they learn. Learning to use both visual and verbal helps me to invite different audiences that have different view points.

NBA playoffs

The NBA playoffs begins this weekend. For those who don't know how this works, the top eight teams from both the Eastern and Western conferences play against each other until one team from each conference plays for the Finals championship. The Eastern conference teams are, #1 Cavaliers v. #8 Bulls, #2 Magic v. #7 Bobcats, #3 Hawks v. #6 Bucks and #4 Celtics v. #5 Heat. The Western conference teams are #1 Lakers v. #8 Thunder, #2 Mavericks v. #7 Spurs, #3 Suns v. #6 Trailblazers and #4 Nuggets v. #5 Jazz. It's goin down starting tomorrow on ABC, TNT, and ESPN.

Tiger Woods

After about 4 months of criticism and back-biting press, Tiger Woods has returned to the green. Tiger decided to come back to golf on the biggest stage, The Masters. Critics thought he wouldn't make it very far in the tournament but Woods managed to pull fourth place. Although Phil Mickelson was the true winner of The Masters I believe that Tiger is the real winner in his come back to the PGA.

Friday Night

This night I was at Johnson B all night!!! I was with some friends playing Xbox 360. We played Madden 10, NBA 2k10, and Soul Caliber IV. We played for about eight hours straight. It was fun tho even tho I couldn't win to save my life lol.

Weekend in Indy

So I just came back from Indy. Been there since Saturday afternoon. Got to hang with my best friend just chilling and watching movies. Today VOT sung at our director's church. We did a great job. Then afterward we went to Golden Corral. I SMASHED me about 3 plates and some dessert!! We was in there clowning too, making jokes and pulling pranks. I love VOT!!!

Idk

I don't know what else to write about for another blog so I'll just write that i don't know what to write about.

Homework

Homework-the stuff that teachers give out and students get tired of. But I guess its for a good cause to learn what is being taught. Well at least from a teachers' perspective.

Tired

I'm just so tired wit classes and school work. I'm just ready for this semester to be over with so I can start back fresh and ready. But for now, May needs to come a little sooner lol

Back from Indy

Yup another Sunday traveled to Indy and back with VOT to sing at one of our member's church. Had to be up around 8:30 to be ready to leave at 9:15. I slept on the way there and on the way back. It was great tho. They fed us after service, which is always a blessing lol.

Jet Li

Before this weekend, I forgot how action-impacted Jet Li movies were. This past weekend I watched two Jet Li movies that I have not seen before. One was Unleashed and the other was Fearless. Both were unrated editions so nothing was left out of them.

VOT throwback concert

Come out hear VOT sing tonight at 6pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 14oo West. Riverside Ave. Muncie, IN. We are taking it back!!! We will be having a good time singing!!!

Party, party, party

I don't go to parties often but Saturday I went to a party had me a fun time. It was a frat party hosted by the Sigmas. I also met Shelton there. We were up there dancing the whole night. The party was good but some dudes got to fighting. They were kicked out immediately and the party continued. We didn't get out til 3am.

Monday 2/8/10-The class got together in their peer review groups to give feedback on their Rhetorical Analysis essays. My group with Valerie, Taylor, and Andrew, we all had good reviews about each of our papers. However, my paper was not reviewed because it was posted late on blackboard. Valerie analyzed two characters in a TV series called Supernatural. Andrew analyzed an Axe commercial and Taylor analyzed a Visa commercial about Dan Jensen during the Winter Olympics 2010.

Wednesday 2/10/10-We had our third Intensive Review session. We went over Andrew, Kaitlyn, and Nicole's paper. We were suppose to go over Allison's paper but she was sick so we did hers on Friday. Each paper had the use of images or lyrics depending on what the paper was talking about. I think the intensive review session ran smoothly that day.

Friday 2/12/10-We had our forth Intensive Review session. We discussed Allison, Steve, and Zach's paper. Each student who talked about each paper gave good suggestions on how they could improve their papers. I really think that these review sessions are beneficial because we learn different things we could do on a paper from a peer's perspective.

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to all!! Its the day that couples married or not get together and spend time with each other. I had a good Valentines Day kickin it wit my boo and exchanging gifts.

NBA All-Star Weekend

Yessir been watchin this all weekend. It started off on Friday with the Rookie vs. Sophmore game with the Rookies getting the victory 140-128. Then on staurday there was the Skills Challenge, 3-point contest and the Slam Dunk contest. Steve Nash won the skills contest, Paul Pierce won the 3-point contest, and Nate Robinson won the slam dunk contest and is the first dunker to win three years in a row!! Then tonight the best of the Eastern and Western Conferences went head to head. The East pulled out a close win 141-139 and Dwayne Wade was the All-Star MVP.

Saints win the Super Bowl

Yessir!!!! Saints pulled it out to win the Super Bowl against the Colts 31-17. I was so geeked to watch and see the Saints win while watching the game with a bunch of Colts fans. It was funny to see their faces after the game was over lol. That's all I have to say.

Back Home

This whole week I and planned to go home for the weekend. Apparently the weather wants to get chaotic on Friday all of a sudden and prevents me from going home. I really planned to go back because my home church is having its Youth Explosion where the youth have services most of the week and a concert on today. But hey I can't complain because I know my friends there are going to have a good time for themselves and for me!!

Indy

Today I had to get up a little earlier than I usually do on Sundays. I had to get up at 8:15am because Voices of Triumph (VOT) had to sing in Indianapolis today. We had a good time in the Lord singing and recieving a good message as well.

Homework, Quizzes, and Tests Oh my!!

Man its crazy that its already been three weeks into the second semester. All this homework that these professors be given takes a toll on you. Then on top of that some be giving quizzes like crazy. And you already that first Exam is coming up so you know you have to study, study, study. But its all good tho because that's what it takes to get through college.

Slumber Saturday

Ahhhhh!!! Man I love Saturdays. Its the days where I can chill, relax, and sleep!!! I had woke up this morning around 10 to get some breakfast at Noyer then went back to my dorm and slept til like 2:30. I needed that rest. Anyways Ima be at the Unity Pagent 2nite and maybe the traffic Light party im not sure. I'll just see how this Saturday flows.

MLK "week"

One of the most revolutionary men that said "All men are created equal", Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. All this week Ball State has acknowledge Dr. King from a march around campus to spoken words by Rev. Joseph Lowery about the civil rights act. By the way I was glad that Voices of Triumph gospel choir of Ball State sung during the event with Rev. Lowery. Anyways this week should be packed other exciting events that I would be attending.

Three day weekend, YEZZIR!!!

I'm gettin the rest of my stuff packed for the weekend ahead. I'm heading to Chicago wit some friends from BSU for a Impact conference. I can't wait to see what's going to be in store for the weekend!!

New semester, better grades

Its already second semester of my freshman year of college. It's crazy how time flies. Anyways I am ready to do a whole lot better this semester. Last semester was an okay semester, even tho it was my first one of college. So I'm striving for at least a 3.0 instead of just making academic standards wit a 2.4. Anyhow I'm just praying that I do better this semester.
